Dive into the magical world of watercolor! In this this class, we will celebrate the magnificent ocean and its unique treasures. Simple water scenes, seashells, starfish, perhaps a mermaid sighting… what will inspire you the most from this vast and mysterious world? Learn how unconventional and traditional methods work together to create luminous, dramatic results. An overview of materials, brushwork and color choices will be presented. Demonstrations will cover many techniques and the timing of when they work. Learn more about the layering process, textures, negative painting, saving whites, and glazing. Many references and specimens will be on hand to work from. Watercolor has a life of its own and is always surprising. Being willing to respond to the developing image rather than forcing it to conform to a preconceived outcome is what makes watercolor so engaging.
